Post-Secondary




Students are required to complete the following 4-credit courses:

Grade 10 Grade 11 Grade 12
English 10 English 11 or
Communications 11
English 12* or
Communications 12
Social Studies 10 Social Studies 11 An additional 12 credits of coursework at the Grade 12 level
At least one Science course At least one Science course
Mathematics 10 At least one Mathematics course
Physical Education 10  
At least 4 credits of Fine Arts and/or Applied Skills coursework at the Grade 10, 11 or 12 level
At least 4 credits of Fine Arts and/or Applied Skills coursework at the Grade 10, 11 or 12 level

Students must also complete:

  • 4 credits of Graduation Portfolio Assessment credits
  • 28 additional credits of elective courses
  • A minimum of five government examinations at the Grade 10, 11 or 12 level, of which one must be English 12 or Communications 12

* To enrol at most Canadian universities or colleges, students must complete English 12.
